Individuals travelling out of the Kingdom of Thailand may only take out a maximum of 50,000 THB that are not subject to the Bank of Thailand's approval. However, individuals travelling from the Kingdom of Thailand to Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and the Yunnan province of the People?s Republic of China may take out a maximum of 2,000,000 THB and not subject to the Bank of Thailand's approval.

Individuals who bring into or take out of the Kingdom of Thailand more than 450,000 THB Thai baht banknotes, or Thai baht banknotes and foreign currency banknotes in a total sum of more than 450,000 THB or its equivalent, or foreign currency banknotes in a total sum of more than 15,000 USD or its equivalent, must?make a declaration to a customs officer at a customs checkpoint.
